Non violence and child centered training

The memory base teaching practise also known as Rote learning is still widely used in community schools around Nepal. This method entails memorization techniques based on repetition. It is believed that one will be able to quickly recall the meaning of the material the more one repeats it.  The downside of this practise is that students may have the wrong impression of having understood what they have written or said when they are simply repeating. Besides, teachers may have an abusive physical behaviour towards students,

CID Nepal is willing to change the people's practise in regards to education by promoting non violent and child centered teaching methods. In other words, we focus on the child as a resourceful individual with unique skills and capabilities. We try to create an inclusive learning environment which is non-discriminatory, non-violent, and gender-sensitive. Teachers then focus more on training individual students. They put more emphasis on the individuality of students and help them to realize their potential.
